The Awakening of Adonis by John William Waterhouse

A perfect spring day.

An azure-blue sky where cotton-candy clouds drift lazily by.

A verdant meadow nestled within the the enfolding arms of a lush dense forest.

A gentle breeze that rustles the leaves, caresses the grass, and kisses the newly-bloomed spring flowers.

The scent of lilac and hyacinth blend with those of wild flowers and the subtle pungent undertones of the woods.

Birds can be heard in the distance, singing from their hearts at the beauty of the day. Calling to each other to feel the joy.

A stream winds its way with lazy abandon through the meadow. Its song the gentle babbling of its water as it trips across smooth stones.

I turn to you, placing my hand on your cheek and smile. I don't have to say a word. This is our place and time. I kiss you lightly on the lips, then take your hand and lead you to the center of the glade.

We set out a blanket, and spend a lazy hour enjoying a picnic lunch of our favorite foods and treats.

The sun is bright and clear, and kisses our skin with its warmth. You move closer, and take me in your arms. You kiss the top of my head, then my forehead, nose, cheeks, chin.... and finally your mouth meets mine and we kiss.
